About the client:

With a readership of up to 50,000 SME managers and directors, entrepreneurs and business start–ups Enterprise magazine produced by Pear Media was already something of a successful brand. However, it had never been through a complete redesign in its short history. So analysis of the original concept, how it could be evolved and implementing new strategies was Autografik’s primary responsibility.

What we did for them:

‘Enterprise: the National Business Magazine for Wales’ decided to rebrand and refresh the magazines look and editorial. Through much research and discussion with staff and directors about the publication we identified the target readership and what they expect from the magazine. This allowed us to reposition the magazine and redefine its brand values.

The magazine was already successful in its original form and had positioned itself as an expert in delivering a service to the business world and had attracted significant sponsorship and advertising. In essence, changes had to be subtle enough not to disrupt its progress. Simple things like removing clutter and creating basic templates to fit articles and images in made for an improved visual display and introduce a level of sophistication. This improved layout also helps differentiate between content and advertising.

The continuation of heavier business and industry specific content was essential in keeping to its original promise. In the new form though, it is broken up by digest, bite–size articles that can be easily transferred as web based content, therefore helping with brand consistency, communication and broadening personality. To create a clear identity throughout we introduced a standard colour palette, icons, and mastheads.

The outcome:

Increased advertising from global organisations and more distribution deals through major retail outlets has elevated Enterprise to the next level.

As a result of Autografik’s work with Enterprise we now have a hands–on role in the brand management of the publication through the proofing of all bodies of work before going to press.
